Officers from the Westport Police Department responded to a reported crash in the area of North Avenue at Cross Highway at approximately 3:30 p.m. on June 23, 2020.

The investigation into the crash determined that Westport resident Dianna Seeler was allegedly responsible for causing the accident by failing to yield at a stop sign and crashing into a second vehicle.

Police said that during the investigation into the crash, officers noted that Seeler appeared disoriented and had difficulty maintaining her balance.

Seeler was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the crash, and while she was there, a warrant was issued to grant investigators permission to obtain her blood alcohol content, which was above the legal limit.

According to police, “based on the officer’s observations the day of the accident as well as the results of the toxicology report, a warrant for Ms. Seeler’s arrest was completed and signed by a Superior Court Judge.”

This week, on Monday, June 21, Seeler was arrested on the warrant and charged with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol and cited for failing to obey a stop sign.

Following her arrest, Seeler was released from custody and scheduled to be arraigned at Stamford Superior Court on Tuesday, July 6.
